Rough day today. What do you go home to? Yesterday was the end of midsemester for the seniors in my grade. I would be surprised if I am passing any class. My photography teacher helped me scan negatives of a Holga roll I took of some buildings. Those two or three minutes were probably the higlight of my day; no one asked for any missing work or if I was "ok" or anything. After school ended, I wanted to attend the Varsity Girls basketball championship game but I couldn't since I would have no ride "home". Skipping to today, I spent the day collecting my film, as well as taking more digital and another roll of black and white. I also saw the movie Up, easily making it on my list of favorite films; it was utterly depressing especially for a Pixar film. Numb and cold, this temporary life hopefully will change soon. Don't know why I'm writing but I'm afraid of what will happen if I don't. One day I will be able to look back at this and give myself a high-five. On a lighter note, I have been really liking digital art that has sections ranging from different spectrums.

Build God, Then We'll Talk: Robert Voit's Wonderful Caricature Of Intimacy
The ridiculousness of people never seems to astound me. Robert Voit, a German Photographer, documents cell tower trees. He does it in a way that makes a parody of it; cell tower trees are when the towers are dressed up to look like trees, so they blend in better with the surrounding environment. Or at least that's the intention. While few do a decent job at disguising them so they blend with the environment, most have been transformed into caricatures of the natural world. Voit photographs these said objects in a satirical form, which I enjoyed. These "Frankenpines" illustrate how insane the ideals of those with power in society are. Being raised catholic, these acts illustrate how man is trying to impersonate God. Even though I do not consider myself religious anymore, masquerading synthetic objects into that which is natural is manic to me. Even before I looked into his work, I despised the idea of having an artificial Christmas tree. There is also that factor of feeling guilty for destroying the beauty of nature, but then again we aren't really willing to do much about it. It is pointless trying to camouflage a cell tower when its existence is a necessary evil of modern life. Also, big ups for him including the nice sky candy for me to see.

Shooting down clouds cause he's thirsty for your smile...
I will be uploading more of my work soon, once I develop another roll I took of a forest as well as scan a few. I also submitted to the Marble Collection for the Spring Reading Period. This is my second time submitting and last time, they accepted both of my submissions. On another note, here are pictures that I love and one day aim to have myself.
